The Network, 1stFriday.com, and the Stanford GSB Black Alumni Association are proud to bring you "An Evening with Ron Conway".
Ron is possibly the most successful and prolific angel investor in the Silicon Valley. His track record for investing in early stage technology companies is extraordinary. He was an early investor in Google, Twitter, AskJeeves and PayPal.
Conway is featured in Gary Rivlin’s book The Godfather of Silicon Valley: Ron Conway and the Fall of the Dot-coms, described as ‘the man who has placed more bets on Internet start-ups than anyone else in Silicon Valley.' It is reported that he has angel investments in over 130 portfolio companies.
MC Hammer is an active angel investor and social media patron. He also was an angel investor in Twitter and is an active user of the platform. He has over 1.5M followers.
Jay Ward - CEO of 1stFriday.com - and Brian Patterson of Gunderson Dettmer will moderate a discussion with Ron and Hammer, examining the economics and process of angel investing in technology companies, as well as the growth of social media.
Angel investors rarely invest in entrepreneurs they don't know, so this is a chance to get on the radar screen of the most active angel investor in the country. This is a "must attend" for aspiring tech entrepreneurs.
The evening is hosted by Brian Patterson and his law firm, Gunderson Dettmer LLP. Brian is attorney at Gunderson - his practice focuses on advising technology companies on financings, organizational and operational matters.
The registration fee will go toward an honorarium for Ron - a contribution to The Black Eyed Peas Peapod Foundation. Ron is on the Board of The Peapod Foundation, which builds music schools for inner-city youth.
